Kimberley Denise "Kim" Trexler, 44, of Rockwell, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019.
She was born August 28, 1974, in Salisbury to Vern "Bud" Trexler, Jr. and Sherrie Kincaid Trexler. Kimberley was a 1992 graduate of East Rowan High School and attended East Carolina University and Campbell University. She graduated from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in 2002 as a Radiology Technician, Forsyth Tech where she obtained a degree in Vascular Technology, and then Weber University where she completed studies to became a physician assistant. Kimberley began working in the Emergency Department at Rowan Regional Medical Center with Dr. Charles Gainor and later worked at Stanly Regional Medical Center. When her health no longer permitted her to work in the ED, she became a substitute teacher for Rowan-Salisbury Schools, working at East Rowan High School with special needs students. She was a member of Grace Lowerstone Church in Rockwell and enjoyed spending time at the beach.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vern and Kat Trexler and James and Laura Kincaid; uncle, James Kincaid, Jr.; and cousin, Mica Lee Hillard.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Jeffery Burner Trexler and wife, Angela, of Rockwell; nieces, Lauren Brooke Trexler and Madison Blair Trexler, both of Rockwell; aunt, Willie Kincaid of Salisbury; aunts and uncles, Kay and Danny Wilson and Connie and Mick Hillard; cousins, Dana Pickler and Will and Solomon Holshouser; her dog, Sassy; and her cats, Eddie and Lexi.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, January 17, 2019, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 18, 2019, in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Brian Russell.
Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.
