Alma Ruth Misenheimer Maples, 67, of New London, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at CHS-Northeast in Concord, NC.
She was born August 24, 1951 in Concord, NC to the late Elmer and Ruth Brown Misenheimer. Alma was a 1969 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, and a 1971 graduate of Kings College earning an associates degree in Business, she worked for Phillip Morris in Concord.
She attended Badin Shores Chapel in New London. Alma enjoyed crafting, crocheting, cross-stitch, making wreaths, fishing, spending time at the lake, and raising Pomeranians. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Alma is survived by her husband of over 32 years, John William Maples, whom she married February 14, 1986; son, Bryan Keith Maples and wife Lisa of China Grove; daughter, Kimberly Lee Terry of Rockwell; grandchildren, Aaron Lee Waldrop and wife Ashley, Margo Noelle Maples, Carter Terry, Sabrina Terry, and Brittany Haid; brothers, Clinton Brown Misenheimer of Kannapolis, and Michael W. Misenheimer and wife Phyllis of New London; nieces, Mitzi Archambo and husband Neal, and Dawn Aufderheide and husband Derek; nephews, Derrick Misenheimer and wife Sherri, Don M. Misenheimer and wife Jennifer.
There will be a celebration of life and gathering of friends at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2018, in the Badin Shores Chapel in New London with Dr. Brad Garrigues and Rev. Mike Threadgill officiating.
