Ruth Moore Rogers, 97, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Salisbury.
Born in Ellerbe, NC, Richmond County, April 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Moore and Liza Haywood Moore.
Ruth graduated from Ellerbe High School in 1939. She worked for a time at Erick Anders, Salisbury and loved her job there.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Cecil D. Rogers I, who passed away in 2006; daughter, Mary Cecelia Rogers Moore, of Michigan; son, Cecil D. Rogers II, of Spencer; three infant sisters, Susan, Jennie, and Annie; brothers, Roy & Johnny Moore; and sisters, Pearlie Rummage and Alma Rogers.
Survivors include daughter, Myrna Starnes and husband Bobby of Salisbury; son, Donald Rogers and wife Regina, of Gold Hill; grandchildren, Mike Moore and wife Karen of Michigan, Sherri Carscaddon, Scott Rogers and wife Sarah, and Nicholas Rogers and wife Holly of Salisbury; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Moore, Aaron Moore, Katie Carscaddon, Zachary Carscaddon, Donald Scott Rogers, and Joel Brock Rogers.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell with Rev. Michael Roseman officiating.
