Linda R. Pless of Lexington, N.C., passed away October 23, 2018, at her home.
She was born June 20, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Phyllis Troy.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. John E. Pless, of the home; her son, Aaron Pless, and wife, Stephanie, of Salisbury, N.C.; her daughter, Dr. Sarah Pless Askwith, and husband, Nate, of Wilmington, N.C.; her sister, Sue Griffin of Aurora, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
She has 3 beloved grandchildren: Graham Aaron Pless, Marin Lucille Askwith, and Theodore “Teddy” George Askwith.
Linda served as a teacher assistant and bus driver for 20 years in the Rowan-Salisbury School system at Faith Elementary.
She was very active in the 3 churches that her husband served: St. Peter’s Lutheran, Salisbury, N.C.; Holy Trinity Lutheran, Little Mountain, S.C.; and Organ Lutheran, Salisbury, N.C., as well as First Lutheran, Lexington, N.C.
The celebration of life service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran, Salisbury, on Saturday, October 27 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal service in the nave of the church.
The family would like to thank very special care givers, Kaye Leonard, Joanna Deyton, and Vickie Bell for their wonderful service.
The service will be conducted by Rev. Matthew Miller, pastor of First Lutheran, Lexington, N.C., and Rev. Sean Barrett, Pastor of St. Peter’s
Lutheran, Salisbury, N.C.
