Marilyn Gertrude Riley , 87, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

She was born January 11, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH to James and Gertrude Adamson Smithers. She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she majored in Human Resources. Marilyn worked as a Human Resource Mangager for Dean & Berry Majestic Paints.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her Son, Daniel Riley, whom passed away on September 25, 2018.

Marilyn is survived by her Daughter, Rebecca Leah Moore of Kannapolis, NC; Son, David (Debbie) Riley of Tarentum, PA; Sister, Betsy Landy of Fort Worth, TX; and by her Niece, Libby (Matthew ) Landy of Bellvue, WA.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 15, 2018, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Salisbury, NC.

Following the service, burial will take place in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery where she will be buried with her son, Daniel Edward Riley.
