Sharon Kay Scott, 62, of Salisbury, NC, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018.

She was born September 20, 1955, in Kimball, NE, daughter of Shirley Scott and the late Robert James Scott. Ms. Scott was a 1974 graduate of Platte Valley Academy and a 1979 graduate Union College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sharon worked as a Registered Nurse for Shawnee Mission Hospital in Kansas, Randolph County Public Health in Missouri, and retired after 26 years from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, NE. Ms. Scott was a member of Statesville Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was an avid Elvis fan, collecting all types of Elvis memorabilia, a NASCAR fan who rooted for the No. 24 car, and a longtime Green Bay Packers fan who would watch the Carolina Panthers after moving to North Carolina.

Ms. Scott is survived by her mother, Shirley Scott of Salisbury, NC; her six siblings, Jerry Teter (Lynda) of Salisbury, NC, Tom Teter (Renata) of West Palm Beach, FL, Sheila Rushlau (Terry) of Omaha, NE, Gaylan Scott (Hanne) of Fremont, NE, Linda Benjamin (Bobby) of Scottsdale, AZ, Gerald Scott (Kathy) of Chincoteague, VA; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 2:00 pm to 3:45 PM on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Statesville Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2429 E Broad Street, Statesville, NC 28625. The funeral service will follow on Wednesday, August 22, at 4:00 PM at the church, conducted by Pastor Tim Cove and Pastor Scottie Deal.

Interment will take place at a later date at West Lawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha, NE.
