Jonathan "John" Wilbert Brown , 45, of Rockwell, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center -Northeast in Concord, NC due to complications with lung cancer.

He was born May 7, 1973 in Rowan County, NC to Floyd and Emily Lyons Brown. John worked as a Electrician for Shultz Homes in Rockwell. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Salisbury. John enjoyed spending time with his kids, collecting coins, and fishing with his sons and father. He was a hard worker and dedicated provider for his family.

John was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy and Jason Brown.

John is survived by his wife of over 23 years, Pamela Plummer Brown, whom he married May 27, 1995; sons, Nicholas Brown and wife Samantha of Salisbury, Dalton Brown of Rockwell, Logan Brown and Lucas Brown both of the home; daughter, Emma Brown of the home; sister, Jeana Bunton of Lexington; Grandmother, Virginia Dale Treece; grandson, Abram Brown; in-laws, Bobby and Judy Plummer who loved him like a son; brother-in-law, Bobby Lynch and wife Christy; and special niece, Brandi Lynch.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, May 31, 2018, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC. The family will be at the home of son, Nicholas Brown the remainder of the time.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 1, 2018, in the Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Pastor Dan Caldwell, officiating. Mr. Brown will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Brookhill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church 2515 East Innes St. Salisbury NC 28146.
