Mr. Bobbie James Coble, 87 of High Rock Lake passed away on April 30, 2018.

Bob was born on July 18, 1930 in Oakboro, the son of the late Van and Dovie Coble. Bob graduated form Oakboro High School in 1948 as Valedictorian of his class.

He served in the United States Air Force form 1951-1957, obtaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He served three years as a Jet Fighter Pilot.

He graduated from Catawba College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. He received his Masters Degree in Mathematics from Peabody College. He taught math at Myers Park High School in Charlotte for 27 years.

He was a very talented musician, playing many musical instruments. He served numerous years as a church pianist/organist as well as choir director.

He was preceded in death by his brother Bill Coble and is survived by his sister Vera Coble Eudy. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 10 at 7:00 PM at Liberty United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Building Fund of Liberty United Methodist Church, 3940 Liberty Road, Gold Hill, NC 28071.
