Louise Leonard Rice, 91, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Novant Health-Rowan Medical Center. She was born in Rowan County on January 6, 1927, to the late Grover C. and Mary B. Leonard. She was the youngest of nine siblings.
Louise was employed at Clellan Rowan Manufacturing and Chantilly Cleaners in Charlotte. She was a regular customer at Bojangles for so many years and gave out lollipops to the children who meant a lot to her. She had no children of her own.
She is survived by Judy Futrell, David Futrell, and many more nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special family members, Jimmy and Robin Belk and their three sons and special neighbors, Jerry and Terry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Kenneth Bost, Clinton Basinger, and Jimmy Rice; brothers, Lee, Clarence, and Bud Leonard; sisters, Carrie Culp, Esther Futrell, Ruth Bowen, Edith Shaver, and Marie Chandler.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury. A special remembrance will be set up at Bojangles on E. Innes Street on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
