Mrs. Anna Mae Lucas Springer, 89 of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, February 1st, 2018 at the Brian Center in Salisbury. Mrs. Springer was born in Monroe County, West Virginia on March 20, 1928, daughter of the late Media Willard Lucas and Margaret Crowder Lucas.
Mrs. Springer earned two scholorships to further her education. She earned her Associates Degree and was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Riverside Hospital where she was the Charge Nurse of the Operating Room in Newport News, Virgina. She was also a private duty nurse. Mrs. Springer attended Salisbury Community Church. Mrs. Springer was well known for her sewing.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Burns Vance Springer, son, Timothy Springer, brother, James Willard Lucas, sister, Sandy Jimenez, and grandson, Wesley Springer.
Mrs. Springer is survived by her sons, Blaine Springer and wife Karen of Salisbury, Steven Springer and wife Deborah of Salisbury, and also by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Powles Staton Funeral Home on Monday, February 5th from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The family will be at the home of Steven Springer the remainder of the time.
The funeral service will be at Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 5th at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Johnathan Cline and Rev. B J Walker. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
