Bessie Kepley Taylor Barringer, 81, of Salisbury, entered her heavenly home on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, NC, after battling alzheimer's disease for many years.

She was born October 18, 1936 in Rowan County, NC to the late Herman and Pearl Kluttz Kepley. Bessie was a 1954 graduate of Granite Quarry High School. She started her career as a Beautician at Faith Beauty Shop, and then she opened her shop Bessie's Beauty Center at her home on Sides Road. Bessie was a member of Grace Bible Church. She sang in the choir and was a member of Grace Senior Saints.

Bessie was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and she was very active in the Christian Women's Club. Bessie loved gardening, flowers, working outside, traveling and spending time at the beach.

In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by husbands, Gregory C. Taylor, Sr. in October 1986, and George S. Barringer in September 1994; sister, Hazel K. Honeycutt.

Bessie is survived by her husband of over 15 years, James Dillon Wagoner, whom she married on June 28, 2002; daughters, Desi T. Weber-Neal and husband David of Salisbury, Suzanne Brewer and husband Mark of Salisbury; son, Gregory C. Taylor Jr. and wife Mitzi of Gold Hill; grandsons, Taylor Weber, Collins Weber, Riley Weber, Eric Taylor, and Ellis Taylor; granddaughters, Emily Harrison and husband Levi, Corie Brewer, and Maggie Brewer; great-grandsons, Gavin and Grant Harrison; great-granddaughter, Stella Claire Doby; brothers, Herman C. Kepley, Jr. and Albert Ray Kepley; sisters, Jean K Lefler and Mary Lois Coan "Pug"; brother-in-law, Larry J. Taylor and wife Betty Jane; step-son, Dillon Wagoner and wife Treva; step-daughter, Carmen Pethel and husband Branson; step-grandson, J.D. Wagoner; step-granddaughters, Jessie Wagoner and Drew Pethel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Monday, January 15, 2018, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Grace Bible Church, Rockwell, NC.

The Celebration of Life for Bessie will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 15, 2018, in the Grace Bible Church, Rockwell, NC, with Rev. Gerry Steedley, and Rev. Jason Huebner, officiating. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Bessie may be made to Alzheimer's Association 4600 Park Road #250 Charlotte, NC 28209 or to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House 1229 Statesville Blvd Salisbury NC 28144.

The family would like to thank the nurses at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House for their love and compassion shown to our mother. Also we would like to thank our step-father, Jim Wagoner for the unconditional love and kindness shown to Mother daily during her sickness.
