Ruby "Jeannie" Wagoner Morales, 97, of Rockwell, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017.

She was born September 17, 1920, in Rowan County to the late Norman B. and Maud Goodman Wagoner. She attended Rowan County Schools and retired from Fiber Industries as a beamer operator.

Mrs. Morales was a lifetime member of Rockwell United Methodist Church. She loved to travel to the beach, and she loved to read. She loved to sing in the kitchen while she baked the best yeast rolls in the world—without a recipe. Most of all she loved her family and kept everyone always in her prayers. She was the much-loved “MMJ.” (Mawmaw Jeannie).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Morales, daughter, Rosemary M. Kellner, and sister, Norma Moose.

Mrs. Morales is survived by her daughter, Cheryl M. Reavis and husband, Richard, of Salisbury, sister, Bernice Jones of Salisbury, grandchildren, Richard Mark Reavis and wife, Denyce, of Mt. Pleasant and Michael Logan Kellner and wife, Nadia, of Raleigh, great-grandsons, Richard Wayne Reavis, II, and wife, Kali, of Rockwell and Jared William Rhoden, of Lexington, great granddaughter Rachel Reavis of Mt. Pleasant; great-great grandson, Caison Reavis, of Rockwell; nephews, Tim Moose of Raleigh, Gary Jones, Larry Jones, and Randy Jones, all of Salisbury, and nieces, Jamie Kimmer of Salisbury and Dianne Ballard of Taylorsville.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.

A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 1, at the Historic Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses of the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Emergency Department; 1st Floor-Tower B; the Cardiac ICU, and the entire staff of the Meadows of Rockwell, for their care of Mrs. Morales. Special thanks also to Meadows resident Zora Lindsay.

Memorials may be made to Rockwell United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 336, Rockwell, NC 28138.
