Luther Richard "Bud" Treece, 83, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, surrounded by family. He was born on April 23, 1934 in Rowan County to the late Grady Treece and Emma Hill Treece.
He attended school at the Shaver School of Rowan County and was a member of Wyatt's Grove Baptist Church. Bud worked as a Machine Repairman for Cannon Mills until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and family and taking trips to Carolina Beach. Bud could fix anything and was always helping his friends and neighbors with odd jobs that they needed help with.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, six sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Colleen Hudson Treece: a son, David Richard Treece of Salisbury; two grandsons, Brian Treece and wife Lindsey of Troutman, and Jason Treece and wife Cherie of Elkmont, AL; a great-grandson, Brogan Treece; and two sisters, Mary Lou Bowers, and Lilly Morgan;
The Visistation will be held on Monday October 23, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Powles Staton Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Powles Staton Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Nathan Hammill. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House (1229 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144).
