John Wesley Ward, Jr., 56, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017. He was born February 9, 1961, in Rowan County, NC to Nita Kluttz Ward of Salisbury and the late John Wesley Ward, Sr.
Mr. Ward was a 1979 Graduate of East Rowan High School and a 1981 Graduate of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College with an Associates Degree in Radiology. He later obtained a Certification in Nuclear Medicine and was a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Novant Health-Rowan Medical Center, where he was employed for 37 years.
Mr. Ward was a member of Salisbury Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he served as the church treasurer and Deacon. He enjoyed sports, particularly as an avid fan of the Carolina Tar Heels, the Green Bay Packers, and the Atlanta Braves. He also loved health and fitness, working on projects around the house, and traveling to the beach or mountains.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Pamela Ketchie Ward, whom he married August 7, 1983, daughters, Molly Ward Byrd (Tyler) of Goldsboro and Katie Ward of Salisbury, sister, Tammy George (Larry) of Rockwell, brother, Cary Ward (Laurie) of Salisbury, and nieces and nephews, Tyler George, Meredith Shue, Joseph Ward, Kevin Ketchie, and Hannah Ketchie.
The family will visit with friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in Salisbury Seventh-Day Adventist Church, conducted by Pastor Ryan Hodgins. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.
