Ben Allen Davis, 67, of Gold Hill, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.
He was born July 10, 1949 in Salisbury, to the late Olin and Nancy Moree Davis. Ben received his high school diploma from RCCC in 2012 and he was a 2017 graduate of Bible Missionary Baptist Bible College earning a Bachelor in Theology.
Ben recieved Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on June 8, 1997 and was Baptized. He was an active and faithful member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church. He built all the backdrops and scenery for church productions, served on the cooking staff at church functions, was an Usher, Greeter, member of the Men's Prayer Group, and he was an inmate sponsor for the Davidson County Correctional Facility for twelve years.
Ben was the owner and operator of Ben the Builder Home Improvements.
Ben enjoyed photography, cooking, watching Jeopardy, and fishing. He was the East Rowan High School "Cannon Man" at football games for last 12 years. Ben was an accomplished woodworker and artist, a Jack of all trades and master of many.
In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by two grandsons, Zachary Davis and Boone Davis, and Granddaughter, Ella Ferguson.
Ben is survived by his wife of over 26 years, Susan Basinger Davis, whom he married November 22, 1990; son, Josh Davis and wife Amanda Ferguson Davis of Salisbury; two daughters, Jodie Shipton Nash of Gold Hill and Wyndi Shipton Sifford of Gold Hill; four grandsons, Tyler Ferguson, Clinton Nash, Cody Trexler and Dalton Trexler; five granddaughters, Sarah Ferguson, Morgan Rowe, Cali McKenny and husband Ryan, Jeslyn Nash, and Macey Trexler; great-granddaughter, Blakely McKenny; great-grandson, Rowan McKenny; three sisters, Shirley Splawn, Audrey Wilson, and Vickie Turman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, June 29, 2017, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Bible Missionary Baptist Church, Rockwell, NC, with Pastors, Tom Bowling, Buddy Hoffner, and Cody Zorn officiating.
Burial will follow in Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
