Mildred Bostian Smith, 89, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her home. She was born July 24, 1927, in Rowan County, NC, to the late Ollie Bostian and Maggie Heilig Bostian.
Ms. Smith was educated in Rowan County Schools and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She loved to travel, bake, crochet, working in her yard, and planting flowers. Ms. Smith worked as a waitress and seamstress. She retired from Century Place where she worked in the sewing department.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Truett Smith, Sr., grandson, Ronnie Truett Smith, Jr., granddaughter, Hana Smith, sisters, Helen Bailey and Edna Menius, and brother, George W. Bostian.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Trudy Hill and husband, Jimmy, of Lexington, sons, Terry Smith and wife, Lorene, of Rockwell and Tony Smith, and wife, Janice, of China Grove, sister, Louise Beeker, brother, James Bostian, special niece, Becky Bailey and nephew, Bernie Bailey, of Richmond, VA, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, as well as her faithful and loving dog, Ophie, and cat, Chucky.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2017, in Brookhill Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Dale Kinley.
