Eleanor Rendleman Eller, 86, of Granite Quarry, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017. She was born May 17, 1930, in Rowan County, NC, to the late David Atwell Rendleman and Grace Aaron Rendleman.
Mrs. Eller was a 1948 graduate of Boyden High School in Salisbury and retired after 30 years as Deputy Clerk in the Rowan County Clerk of Court's Office. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, served as Church Coordinator and former President of Meals on Wheels, and assisted with the Homework Hut program. She also volunteered for many years at Novant Health-Rowan Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Eller, sons, James Richard Eller, Jr., and John Eric Eller, grandparents, John L. Rendleman, Annie Woodson Atwell Rendleman, Thomas E. Aaron, and Ida Henley Aaron, and brothers, Dr. David Atwell Rendleman, Jr., John T. Rendleman, Charles A. Rendleman, and Rev. Tobias A. Rendleman.
Mrs. Eller is survived by her sons, Mark Steven Eller of Granite Quarry and Christopher Charles Eller and wife, Suratchana T. "Kitty" Eller, of Salisbury, daughter-in-law, Gale Smith Eller of Morganton, sister, Grace Rendleman Kirk of Salisbury, brother Rev. Henry Christopher Rendleman of Hickory, grandson, Dustin Richard Eller and wife, Amanda, of Mint Hill, great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Morgan Eller, and her constant companion her African Grey Parrot, Grace.
Mrs. Eller was a loving, kind hearted, generous person; she will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Granite Quarry, conducted by Rev. David Miner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends and relatives following the committal in the church fellowship hall.
