Ruby Geneva Shue Lingle, 97, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 following a short period of declining health at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.
Ruby was born on June 3, 1919 to the late James and Lucy Lefler Shue in Mount Pleasant, NC. She worked for Cannon Mills for over 35 years before retiring.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, a member of the Women of the Church, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 327 and also a member of the TLC Group of Powles Staton Funeral Home. Ruby enjoyed gardening, quilting and flowers.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by husband of over 58 years, Elvis Morris Lingle; five brothers and three sisters.
Ruby is survived by two sons, Hoyle Lingle and wife Linda of Salisbury, and Harold Lingle and wife Joan of Salisbury, NC; two granddaughters, Beth Ann Barnes and husband Jim of Raleigh, and Pamela Jean Miller and husband Jimmy of Cleveland; three grandsons, Steven Lingle of Cary, James Lingle and Wendy Foster of Salisbury, and Gary Eugene Lingle and wife Angie of Salisbury; five great-granddaughters, Brandy Miller, Heather Singleton and husband Bo, Amanda Dwyer and husband Karl, Kristen Lingle, and Ashley Presnell and husband Dennis; two great-grandsons, Derek Lingle and wife Jackie, and Garret Lingle; great great-grandsons, Connor Presnell, Dylan Beebe, Shane Beebe, and Bryson Coleman; Sister, Margaret Fisher of Gold Hill.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017, 4:00 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church, Faith, NC, with Pastor Randy Drafts, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery.
