Betty Jo Boger Efird, 82, of Rockwell, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. She was born February 17, 1935, in Rowan County, to the late Thomas Howard and Ruth Ann Hoffner Boger.
Mrs. Efird attended Rockwell High School, worked for Cannon Mills for 35 years and retired from Collins & Aikman. She was a long time member of Mills Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Kannapolis and enjoyed cooking. Mrs. Efird loved her children but truly treasured her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Efird, and two brothers, Clifford Boger and Thomas Boger.
Mrs. Efird is survived by her children, Mike Efird and wife, Rita, of Salisbury, Johnny Efird and wife, Joann, of Rockwell, Kimberly Efird Fisher of Lexington, and Rodney "Perk" Efird of Rockwell; twin sister, Peggy Jean Willis of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Mills Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Kannapolis, conducted by Elders Tom Robinson and Rom Kerley. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.
