Miron Lee "Teen" Wilhelm, 80, of Rockwell passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at the Glenn A Kiser Hospice House. Mr. Wilhelm was born on June 27, 1936, in Rowan County son of the late Myron Hubert Wilhelm and Inez Safrit Wilhelm.
Mr. Wilhelm was a graduate of Rockwell High School, was a Veteran having served in the US Air Force and had retired from Hoechst Celanese having worked as a mechanic. He was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, Keller Memorial Masonic Lodge 657, enjoyed model airplanes and loved being with family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred "Jake" Wilhelm and Randy Dean Wilhelm.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gayle Reynolds Wilhelm, son Kelly D. Wilhelm of Rockwell, daughter Roberta "Bobbie" Wilhelm Waller and husband Mark of Rockwell, grandson Dylan Hunter Wilhelm, brother Donald "Butch" Wilhelm and wife Mickie of Rockwell, sister Linda Parrish of Salisbury and sister-in-law Joan Wilhelm of Salisbury.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2017, in the parlor at Organ Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in Organ Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Carlin Ours, pastor. Burial with Military Graveside Rites will follow in the church cemetery.
