Ronald "Ronnie" Kay Hurlocker, Sr., 62, of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016. Ronnie was born on October 13, 1954 in Cabarrus County to the late Kay Howard and Audrey" Nancy" Jean (Bost) Hurlocker. He worked as a carpenter, building houses for his community for most of his life.
Ronnie enjoyed hunting and was a member of Locke Hunt Club in Hoffman, NC. He loved to attend and be a part of his family's softball games, catching for his daughter while she was growing up and carrying on the tradition with his granddaughter. He got along with everyone and would "give you the shirt off his back". Most of all, Ronnie loved being around his family and being involved in their lives, and enjoyed cooking for them. He was just an all around loveable man.
Ronald is survived by his daughter, Candice Hurlocker Miller and husband Matt of Salisbury; son, RJ "Stretch" Hurlocker of Salisbury; two brothers: Donald "Donnie" Ray Hurlocker of Concord, Tony Joe Hurlocker and wife Lisia of Rockwell; one sister, Melva Jean Leach and husband Mikel of Concord; one granddaughter, Eleni "Little E" Miller of Salisbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 1-2 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 2 pm in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hayes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ronnie's name to his granddaughter's softball team: RC Swarm Travel Softball, 496 Pleasant Cove Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146.
