Richard L. Raymond, 74, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 10, 1942 to the late Hubert Raymond and Dorothy Krisbaher in Green Lake, WI. Richard was a graduate of Moraine Park Technical College. Richard worked as a Mechanical Draftsman and Purchaser for General Electric and Fuchs, and then retired from Phillip Morris.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, active in John's Sunday School Class, in the Evangelism Committee and Bible Study. Richard enjoyed Carolina Basketball, camping, traveling, and delivering Meals on Wheels. He loved spending time with his friends and family. Richard was a man that loved life and laughter.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by Step-Father, Ed Prigan (Dad); Brothers, Hubert "Ray" Raymond, Jerry "Jack" Raymond, Roland "Red" Bates; Sisters, Barbara Johnson, Betty Raymond.
Richard is survived by his Wife of over 31 years, Shirley Agner Raymond, whom he married November 17, 1984; Daughters, Renee Raymond-Wachuta and husband Joe, Anita Raymond and husband Ned Bouril; Sons, Rick Raymond and wife Becca, Randy Raymond and wife Cheri, Lawrence Raymond and wife Eve, Rodney Land and David Land; Grandson, Dustin Wilhelme and wife Kelly; Granddaughters, Alix Raymond, Sydney Raymond, Tehya Wachuta and Kailei Wachuta; Sisters, Ellen Winters and husband John, Kathy Debehnke and husband Mike, Connie Drexler and husband Paul; Brother, Robert Raymond and wife Nancy; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 3, 2016, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Family Life Center, Salisbury, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, 3:00 pm at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC, with Rev. Gary S Coble, officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Military Graveside rites will be provided by the NC National Guard and the Rowan County Honor Guard.
