Robert Keaford Morrison, 74, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
He was born on February 12, 1942 to the late Luther and Irene Curlee Morrison in Woodleaf, NC. Robert graduated from Rowan Tech Welding School. Robert was the Owner and Operator for Morrison's Garbage Service. Robert was an avid gardener, he built bird houses and enjoyed construction.
He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, he served as a greeter, member of the Liberty Methodist Men's Group, the men's choir, former usher and worked in the concession stand at the ball field. Robert visited the sick and shut-in members of his community, taking them produce from his garden.
Robert is survived by his Wife of over 52 years, Patricia Hamm Morrison, whom he married December 15, 1963; Daughter, Renee McDaniel and husband Chad of Salisbury; Son, Martin Morrison and wife Tammy of Salisbury; Four Granddaughters, Erin Cherry and husband Jason, Christa Groves and husband Matt, Allie McNeill and husband Michael and Kathryn Morrison; Grandson, Gavin McDaniel; Great-granddaughter, Scarlet Cherry; Three Sisters, Patricia, Jane and Ruby; Four Brothers, James, John, Donald and Walter.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by Brothers, Fred and Grey, Sisters, Eva Mae and Katherine and his beloved dog Lola.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016, 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, with Rev. Charlie Curtis, officiating. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Robert may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church Building Fund 3640 Liberty Rd Gold Hill NC 28071.
