Feldman Yates, Jr. "Junior" 84, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.
He was born on May 16, 1931 to the late Feldman and Viola Cress Yates in China Grove. Junior was a Veteran of the United States Army, he worked as a welder for Fisher Mobile Homes which later became Homes by Oakwood, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith. Junior loved spending time at High Rock Lake, hunting, fishing and sleeping on his front porch swing.
Junior is survived by his Wife of over 36 years, Diane Branch Yates, whom he married on May 27, 1979; Three Sons, Richard Yates and wife Judy of Kannapolis, Don Jacobs and wife Holly of Salisbury, Marc Jacobs and wife Melanie of Salisbury; Daughter, Revonda Park and husband Carl of Salisbury; Sister, Lucille Burleson of Spencer; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and his beloved dog Bo.
In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by a Daughter, Shelli Moss, Grandson, Daniel Bullinger, Brothers, Leonard Yates, Oscar Yates, Harold "Sharkey" Yates, and Sister, Odessa Peeler
Visitation will be held Friday, April 29, 2016, 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel, Rockwell, with Rev. Mike Shoaf, officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park with Military Graveside Rites provided by the Rowan County Honor Guard and the NC National Guard.
