Nancy Carpenter Lowery, 79, of Richfield, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center Northeast. Nancy was born on December 6, 1933 in Stanly County, a daughter of the late Fred Marshall and Phronia Thelma Coley Carpenter. Nancy was a graduate of Aquadale High School, and retired from Cone Mills of Salisbury.
Nancy enjoyed cooking, baking biscuits, gardening, tending to her flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Mac Carpenter and sister, Sarah Almond.
Survivors: Nancy is survived by her children. Sons, Freddie Smith of China Grove, Thomas Smith, Jr. of Granite Quarry, and Sandy Smith of Richfield. Daughters, Sherry Eury and husband Terry of Norwood, Debbie Eury of Rockwell, and Pamela Hunt and husband Joe of Salisbury. Brother, James Carpenter and wife Carolyn of Norwood. Nancy is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 5th at Powles Funeral Home from 1 to 3 PM.
Services: There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell, conducted by Mr. Bradley Williams, Youth Pastor of Canton Baptist Church and Rev. John Melton, Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
