Harold “Lloyd” Morgan, 77, of Rockwell, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born March 15, 1940, in Rowan County to the late Walter Lee Morgan and Beulah Pauline Honeycutt Morgan.
Mr. Morgan was a 1958 graduate of Rockwell High School and was a member of the NC National Guard for nine years. He was employed by Loeblein Furniture where he built furniture for 24 years and retired from Phillip Morris after 20+ years. Mr. Morgan was a member of Grace Lower Stone Church, a former member of Salisbury Bass Masters and enjoyed fishing at Holden Beach and locally at High Rock Lake. He enjoyed farming and gardening and loved antique and Farmall Tractors; he also enjoyed the Thresher's Reunion held annually in Denton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Roseman Morgan, who passed away June 23, 1999.
He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Morgan (Wendy Litaker) of Rockwell and Mike Morgan (Jody) of Salisbury, siblings, Herman Morgan (Jean) of Sanford, Elaine Gilland (Bobby) of Rockwell, Carl Ray Morgan (Kay Ryals) of Salisbury, Betty Ann Bell (Gary) of Salisbury, and Richard Morgan (Becky) of Monroe, LA, and grandchildren, Bryce Morgan of Rockwell and Keelee, Chandler, and Ethan Morgan of Salisbury.
The family will visit with friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday evening, August 7, 2017, at Powles Staton Funeral home in Rockwell.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Mike Shoaf and Rev. Steve DeGangi. Interment will follow in Grace Lower Stone Church Cemetery.
