Gaynell Darnell Taylor, 86, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017. She was born May 4, 1931, in Gray Court, SC, to the late Lewis Charles Darnell and Eva Sineath Darnell.
Mrs. Taylor was a 1949 graduate of Gray Court-Owings High School and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Gardner Webb University. She was a teacher in Auburn, Alabama before retiring. Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury and loved her dogs, dolls, and traveling to the beach. Above all she loved her family; her daughters, her Grandchildren, her Great Grandchildren and the love of her life her husband Frank Carroll Taylor whom she is now reunited with in a glorious celebration of love and faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Frank Carroll Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughters, Julie T. Bangham and husband, Mike, of Huntsville, AL, and Susan T. Hammer and husband, Nathaniel, of Salisbury, sisters, Ella Rodgers of Tennessee and Frances Robertson of Birmingham, AL, four grandchildren, Leah Reddick and husband, Walter, Christopher Bangham, Melissa Hammer-Grubb and husband, Paul, and Emily Hammer, and two great-grandchildren, Sara Taylor Reddick and Reid Reddick.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 19, 2017, in the Historic Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
